A report by Jitterbit has revealed that businesses are increasingly focusing on AI and automation to transform how they operate. The 2025 Automation Benchmark Report, based on a survey of 1,000 senior IT leaders across the U.S. and UK, reveals that while 99% of organisations recognise the need for seamless integration and automation, the majority (71%) still lack the unified platforms required to achieve this. The report also highlighted the rise of agentic AI as the next frontier. Over 60% of business processes are now being automated by line-of-business teams, a significant shift from IT handling all development. However, significant barriers remain, particularly around security and compliance, integration of legacy systems, and the complexity of automating intricate processes. Early adopters are already seeing remarkable efficiencies, with 72% estimating AI automation saves them over 160 developer hours each month and 57% expecting their investments to yield ROI increases of 26-50%.
