Automation NTH, an automation system integrator specialising in solving complex life sciences, medical device and medtech manufacturing challenges, will showcase its precision automation solution for complex medical device assembly at INTERPHEX NYC. The Vision Guided Robotic Wire Insertion Machine, a precision solution that can control movement with less than 0.001 (25 µm) tolerance in all axes, was designed to address the tight-tolerance assembly of stylets and cannulas. The system uses a Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm 4 (SCARA 4) axis robot, two tabletop-mounted servo motors, and a robotic gripper to place the cannula into place. The robot also uses inspection cameras to record and measure the stylets, cannulas, and adjusts them based on this information.
