Levi Strauss & Co. has expanded its robotic process automation (RPA) capabilities to automate process across the enterprise, as part of a digital transformation effort. The denim company began piloting RPA capabilities in 2021 and aims to create bots that can automate labor-intensive and lower-level tasks, enabling employees to focus on higher-level analytical and judgment-based work. The RPA Center of Excellence (COE) team, led by Levis, has been working with different departments to find automation opportunities and scale automation across the business. The team aims to automate at least 20,000 hours of manual work by 2022 and 2025, with the goal of reaching 90,000 in total. Additionally, they are working to simplify ways of working, create connectivity throughout the organization and integrate processes with enterprise business systems like SAP, Google Cloud, and FlexPLM.
