The use of warehouse automation is becoming more widespread in Poland, with medium-sized companies increasingly turning to modern technology for modernisation and growth. This technology allows warehouses to store more items within the same area, resulting in more efficient space use and increased revenue. However, there is also a growing demand for specialists in robot oversight and data analysis. Automated compact storage systems are particularly popular due to their ability to support racks up to 40 metres high and their operational efficiency. Robert Kosicki, technical and sales advisor for warehouse automation at Mecalux, said that smart, energy-efficient lighting with active control systems is a key factor in saving resources. Automation also improves safety and quality assurance while minimising human error and product damage. Despite the benefits of automation, the adoption of new technologies in warehouses comes with challenges such as adaptation expenditure. The market is moving towards fully smart warehouses, where robotics, IoT and digital twins form the core of operational competitive advantage.
