Finnish company Valmet has secured an order to provide an advanced automation solution at Klingele Paper & Packagings Weener paper mill in northern Germany. The solution will combine three new products into the existing automation environment at the mill, reducing surface starch use and energy consumption. The comprehensive solution includes the Valmet Fiber Furnish Analyzer, Valmet Advanced Process Controls, and Valmet PlantTriage. These systems will work in conjunction with the mills current Valmet DNA, Valmate Quality Control System, and Vermet Paper Lab to create a data-driven optimisation loop. The project aims to significantly reduce the usage of surface starch and reduce water usage.
