Boxed Water, a Michigan-based company, is automating its end of line palletizing process to reduce the physical and operational stress of lifting and stacking 28-pound cases of water. The move was made to streamline the process and streamline it to meet major customers across the country. The company, founded in 2009, has already automated much of its filler line but palletized remains a bottleneck both physically and operationally. The automation removes the onboarding and retraining burden of short-term labor. While Boxed Water has automated filling systems and equipment, this is its first time using end of the line automation. Looking ahead, the team plans to automate case packing to improve throughput and reduce corrugate usage in support of its broader sustainability goals.
